Additional Services

Looking for a secure place to put your important documents? Giving a gift? Traveling? Need to send money to another bank? Here are convenient products and services to fulfill those needs.

Ask your personal banker for more information.

  • Safe deposit boxes are best place to store your important papers, valuables and family heirlooms. Any item that would cause you to say, “If I lose this, I’m in deep trouble,” should be in your safe deposit box. This includes original copies of your insurance policies, titles, deeds, mortgages, leases and other contracts; family records such as birth, marriage and death certificates; investment information on your stocks, bonds and CDs; valuables such as jewels, medals, collectables, photo negatives and photos or videos of your home for insurance purposes.

When you open a new Interest Checking or Forward Interest Checking account, the first year rental of a safe deposit box is free. Safe deposit boxes are not available at all locations. Costs vary based on size.
  • Cashier checks are often used in situations that involve large purchases, such as real estate and brokerage transactions or buying a new car. Using cashier checks is one of the safest and most efficient ways to pay bills and maintain the security of bank protection. This is because the check is issued and guaranteed by Bank Forward, rather than the purchaser. Cashier checks are purchased using available or collected funds from your Bank Forward account, loan proceeds, a loan advance or cash.

    Fees may apply.

  • Savings bonds are debt securities issued and backed by the US government and are considered one of the safest investments because the payment of interest is guaranteed and the bonds will never have to be cashed for less than you paid for them. Savings bonds are nontransferable and come in eight values: $50, $75, $100, $200, $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000. After purchase, the holder must wait at least six months before cashing in the bond, when they will receive the capital plus some interest. Though maturity periods vary, the longer you wait before redeeming your bond, the more interest you will receive.

Paper savings bonds may be redeemed at any bank location. Though paper bonds are no longer sold at financial institutions, you may purchase bonds electronically through the US Department of the Treasury at Treasury Direct.

  • A wire transfer, or electronic transfer of funds, is often the most expedient method for transferring money between bank accounts. Wires are virtually instantaneous, requiring no longer for transmission than a telephone call, and allow you to send money to financial institutions both in the United States and internationally.

Why send a wire transfer? When sending funds worldwide, wire transfer, done bank-to-bank, is considered the safest international payment method. Information contained in wires is transmitted securely through encrypted communications methods using our direct connection with the Federal Reserve’s wire services.
If you need funds credited immediately, choose wire transfer and let your money work for you. Wires may only be made with cash or available funds in your account.

  • Automated Clearing House, or ACH, is an electronic payment network that allows funds to be electronically debited or credited to your checking or savings account. ACH may be used for pre-authorized recurring payments such as Social Security, insurance premiums and utility payments. The most common uses of ACH are bill payment, mortgage and loan repayment, and direct deposit and payroll.
With ACH’s fast and convenient direct deposit, your paycheck is deposited into your account whether you’re on vacation, sick or traveling on business. It’s confidential and you have complete freedom to choose any bank.

With direct payments, funds collected are available on a scheduled date, such as the billing due date. Check handling and manual payment processing are eliminated. Your worries about late fees or stolen checks are eliminated and your risk of identity theft greatly reduced. Using ACH as your method of bill payment also helps you establish and maintain excellent credit records.

Your day is busy enough. Choose direct deposit or direct payment through ACH.

Fees may apply for ACH or International ACH Transaction items originated to external payees.
  • Photocopying and fax services, notary services and night depository. Fees may apply.
