Julie Yoney: Celebrating 40 years in Insurance
February 16, 2017, is a big day for Julie Yoney, Customer Service Agent at Insure Forward, Grand Forks. It marks her 40th anniversary of working in the insurance industry.
In 1977, Julie was pounding the pavement looking for a job when her uncle mentioned an opening at an insurance agency in East Grand Forks. She applied and got the job.
There have been lots of joys over the years. Her favorite part of her career has always been the people. She says, “I get to work with great people day in and day out. It makes the job interesting and fun! I love getting up every morning and coming to work!”
There have been some challenges, too. “When I started in insurance, we used manual typewriters with carbon sheets. If you made a mistake, you had to use white-out from the bottle. What a mess that could be to use it on all the pages! Turned out you had to start over,” she laughs.
Julie has some advice to give people starting out in insurance. “You will never know everything there is to know in the insurance business because things are changing all the time. There’s always something new to learn!”
Thank you, Julie, for all you do—here’s to many more years at Insure Forward!
