This is not Scott's first Olympic Game participation. He was a curling team coach at the Vancouver games in 2010. The highlight of his curling career cam in 2006 when the US Team that Scott was a member of brought home the bronze medal behind Canada (gold) and Finland (silver). Scott noted that it was a goal and a dream come true. It capped off a curling career that began when he was ten years old when his father introduced him to the sport of curling. Scott began league play in his home town of Bemidji in 1964 and honed his skills to the Olympic level at the Bemidji rink.

Scott's fondest curling memory occurred on the Olympic podium when he received the bronze medal. Scott, a veteran, noted that "Representing your country, being part of a winning team, and being on that podium was special." Scott's wife Lynn was there and ratifies that! She noted "The Olympic experience was very special and I was so proud of Scott and our team as the competition level is so high and there is no room for error."

Scott noted that the athletes and coaches are well taken care of in many ways, including the apparel department! Nike and Ralph Lauren have helped design some of the most colorful, patriotic, and stylish uniforms for the US participants. That helps make the traditional opening and closing Olympic events special! Scott noted that the game's medalist receive a special uniform for the award ceremony that includes everything including shoes and sets you apart from all Olympic participants.

As Scott leaves for Sochi, he has no security fears. He feels that the Olympic Organization is simply amazing how they put on the games! He feels that the athletes and the coaches are well protected within the Olympic village.

Best of luck to Scott and the US Olympic Curling Team in Sochi!!! We know Scott will represent the USA and the Forward Team in gold medal style!
