30 years with Renee Christ

on

In recognition of her contribution and continued service, we are pleased to honor Renee Christ who, this past year, reached a significant milestone in her career: 30 years of service with Bank Forward!

What happened in 1983 for the history books?

Ronald Reagan was president. Michael Jackson performed the moonwalk for the first time and released his “Thriller” video. Sally Ride was the first woman in space. Microsoft Word and Lotus 1-2-3 were released. The third Monday in January was declared Martin Luther King Day. McNuggets and Crispix cereal were rolled out to consumers.

And Renee Christ started her banking career as a teller at Wimbledon, ND.

Today, Renee is an Assistant Vice President and works as Personal Banking Supervisor in Bank Forward, Wimbledon. She’s stayed in Wimbledon through three name changes (Farmers and Merchants Bank, Security State Bank of North Dakota and Bank Forward) and was promoted to supervisor in the early 1990s.

Renee spent her first month at work filing paper checks and deposit slips. She laughs, “They didn’t even allow me to answer the phone!” Since then, she’s seen tremendous changes in technology: debit cards, a website, online banking, scanned images and mobile deposit capture. The adding machine she started working on is now actually in the Wimbledon Community Museum!

Why does she stay? “Bank Forward is a great place to work and has a community connection that feels like family to me,” Renee smiles.

Renee is well known to all operations staff for her attention to detail. For over twenty years, she has reviewed all operations file maintenance (aka “The List” to operations employees) and currently also does second review on CIP.

Renee and her husband, Wayne, have been married 32 years and live in rural Dazey. They have three children, Adam, a school psychologist in Bismarck, Brandon, an agronomist in Valley City (whose wife Sarah works at Bank Forward, Valley City), and Cody, a college student at Moorhead.

In her spare time, Renee loves to spend time with family and friends, reading and volunteering in various community projects, including Holiday Happenings.

Congratulations on your 30th anniversary with Bank Forward, Renee! We appreciate your years of service with us!
