The University of Minnesota Crookston will auction off a framed autographed Zach Parise Minnesota Wild jersey in a timed raffle during their annual UMC Teambacker “Fun Nite” held Friday, April 26 at the Crookston Eagles.
Tickets for the raffle can be purchased for $10 at “Fun Nite” to have a chance to win the jersey. The jersey was donated by Invest Forward of Crookston and framed by Forks Frame Up.
The jersey was signed by University of North Dakota product and current Minnesota Wild left winger Zach Parise. After being the 17th overall pick in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils, Parise has gone on to an eight-year career in which his best season came in 2008-09 when he was selected to the NHL All-Star Game and was third in the league in scoring. In addition, Parise helped lead the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011 and also competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics, in which he was named to the Olympic All-Star Team. He is in his first season with the Wild, returning to his home state of Minnesota.
All proceeds from UMC Teambacker “Fun Nite” will go toward supporting UMC student-athlete scholarships. Tickets can currently be purchased for $50. Two drink tickets are included in the purchase of any ticket.
The event will commence at 5:30 p.m. April 26 with a social with appetizers, with the fun and games beginning at 7 p.m. Live and silent auctions will start right at 5:30 p.m. when the event begins. Those interested in purchasing tickets can contact UMC Director of Athletic Fundraising Bill Tyrrell by e-mailing him at email@example.com.
